Shi-ne - Calm Abiding Meditation

Lopon Ed Heckerman will introduce calm abiding meditation from the perspective of the Dudjom Tersar tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. No requirement or previous experience is required. Shamatha in Sanskrit, otherwise known as shi-ne in Tibetan, involves learning how to rest the mind. It is a support for all subsequent meditation practices. Calm abiding is also essential in one’s daily lives to effectively ground one’s focus in the present moment. There are outer, inner, and secret levels to this practice.

Suggested donation: $25 or more. No one will be turned away for inability to pay. Please RSVP to reserve a cushion or chair, and a parking permit.
